GIVEAWAY: Maze Runner-The Scorch Trials Blu-Ray

Earlier in the year I saw the original Maze Runner movie for the first time. It was actually by accident because I was sitting on my couch doing work and it happened to be on in the background.  The main character Thomas, played by Dylan O’Brien, caught my eye because I recognized him from the hilarious movie The Internship with Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn. It was strange seeing him in such a different role, being the hero instead of the uptight teenager engrossed in his cell phone. I only caught the middle, closer to the end, but that’s all I needed to be completely hooked. Over the course of the next week I watched it a total of five times, FIVE! It has since become one of my favorite movies so you can imagine how excited I was when the second installment was announced. I love movies that have a continuous story line and contain twists that keep you engaged.

Oh Tuesday, I am so very happy to see you. Today is officially my Friday and the start to a mini vacation at home with family. With Thanksgiving only a couple of days away, everyone is off of work and school is closed until next Monday! You know what that means right? Time to get my relax on. I am turning mommy mode off for at least an hour or two a day because I am in major need of some “me” time after a LONG grueling semester. The struggle of being an adult student is real! Finding time to indulge in a little television is hard to come by when your mind is filled with mundane equations and business law terminology. Not only do I get to catch up on some much needed sleep this week but I can finally binge watch my favorite shows from the comfort of my couch or bedroom. I am all about the freedom to stream on my laptop.

The Book of Life is easily one of my favorite animated films of 2014 and all time. As you may have noticed, we are patiently waiting in excitement for the release of the Shaun The Sheep Movie next week! The movie theater has been our sanctuary this summer when the weather is icky and the sunshine is hiding behind the clouds. Sometimes popcorn and a few good laughs are all you need to cure the rainy day blues. As Shaun goes on his epic adventure from the farm to a big city we get to see all of the silly shenanigans that follow him and his flock. If the movie is anything like than trailer than I am expecting quite a few hilarious scenes.

What’s Streaming: Netflix Picks For July

These past few weeks I probably spent an unnecessary amount of time lounging on the couch watching Netflix. The last week of June I had surgery and we conveniently upgraded the television in our living room around the same time. As a result I went from never watching it to spending an hour or two each day being mesmerized by the crystal clear high definition screen. Plus it’s one of those fancy ones that you can connect to the internet and stream your Netflix with the click of a button the remote. Where did all this new technology come from? I must have spent 20 minutes trying to figure out the settings on that thing. When all the fuss was done I was able to wrap up the last season of Pretty Little Liars and start binge watching another of my favorites, Cupcake Wars.
