Saturday’s Top Five Laughs

May 12

1. Lately Toodie has been adamant about dressing herself and doing everything on her own. This includes picking out her outfit for the day, jammies at night, and even what accessories she would like in her hair. HELLO INDEPENDENCE! This has been very helpful especially on the mornings she goes to school. While i am cooking her breakfast she gets dressed and it saves me and extra few minutes. The only problem is, she puts everything on backwards! I took this photo the other night while she was distracted.

 2. Preparing for Mother’s Day Sunday, I had Victoria decorating a card for her grandma and when she was all done she looked at me and said, “Mommy, this is gonna make grandma SOOOOOO happppyy.”  You could tell she was proud of herself for covering the whole entire envelope with stickers, there was no inch uncovered!

3.  Friday was a special day for Toodie and daddy. They spent the day at Butterfly world. When she came home she got in her pajamas (backwards of course) and i asked her how her day was. I always try and ask her what she does everyday whether she is home or our for the day. Last night when i asked her what she did at Butterfly World she gave me a few short sentences. She told me she saw butterflies flying around how pretty they were. When i asked her what else she saw her answer was,” I’m done talking.”  Well OKAY then! I guess that wraps up our Butterfly World conversation!

4. Toodie has been loving her fruits lately. She eats watermelon almost everyday and I think this is pretty much her favorite fruit right now. The other night she was sitting next to me watching television, eating her watermelon. I was working on homework for my class and I turn over to see her chatting with herself. She ate a piece of watermelon and said ” Yeah that’s pretty good. Thank you!” It’s so cute to see her have conversations with herself. I am just waiting for the day she has an imaginary friend.

5.Whenever I am on the phone with someone, Toodie HAS to say hello. It does not matter if it’s a friend, family member, or recording from Walgreens to pick up my photos. The best part is she actually thinks that the person on the phone can “see” her and what she is doing. My best friend called me the other night and Toodie was rambling on about whoopie pies. She took the phone away from her ear and put it in front of the whoopie pie book and said ” You see whoopie pies, i like them, i want to make chocolate one.” This is such a funny sight to see.

GUCCI Flora BzzCampaign #bzzagent

May 11

My Gucci Flora Bzzkit is here! I was so excited and thankful to be chosen for this specific campaign. I have been a member of Bzzagent for years and so far this has to be one of my favorite campaigns to date. The packaging impressed me as soon as I took it out of the delivery box. The samples arrived in a lovely white and black box wrapped in a pretty floral tissue paper to match.
Inside of the box were 9 perfume vial samples to hand out to friends. There are three of each fragrance- Gracious Tuberose, Gorgeous Gardenia, and Glamorous Magnolia.  It also included three mini bottles of each fragrance for myself to use, a decorative card, pamphlet containing three more samples card, and my campaign letter.

It’s hard to say which fragrance is my favorite so far. They all have different elements and their own personalities. Gorgeous Gardenia is the one I cannot stop smelling. I have always loved the smell of Gardenias and remember my grandmother growing them in her backyard. The scent is soft, feminine, very warm. It is very light and not too overpowering.

Here is a bit more information about these three incredible scents straight from the Bzzagent website-

Inspired by one of Gucci’s most iconic designs, Flora by Gucci: The Flora Garden Collection is a bouquet of refined eau de toilettes, designed to express the multi-faceted personality and depth of emotion of every woman. Glamorous, Gracious, Gorgeous — each fragrance is distinct, yet together all the scents embody the beauty and allure of Gucci’s renowned Flora pattern, originally designed for the charismatic Princess Grace in 1966. Explore each bloom, and express your loveliness, with Flora by Gucci.

Glamorous Magnolia : A brilliant opening of buoyant freesia, zest and green leaves yields to a tactile fusion of peony and magnolia. Sandalwood, musk and warm chocolate lend sensuousness to a base that proves as lingering as it is addictive. Glamorous Magnolia celebrates the magnolia in all its guises: radiant freshness, velvet petals and an enduringly feminine sensuality. Glamour is assured.

Gorgeous Gardenia: A sparkling prelude of succulent red berries and juicy pear gives way to an opulent floral heart. The plushness of gardenia petals is enhanced by the creamy warmth of frangipani flower, underlaid by the delectable aroma of patchouli and brown sugar. Gorgeous Gardenia is a paean to the lightness of the shrub’s first blossom and the addictive richness of it in full bloom. The result is gorgeously feminine.

Gracious Tuberose: A distinctively elegant tuberose in which a verdant overture of violet leaves and peach softens into the plant’s silken blossom. A base of white cedarwood and cistus enhances the impression of refined charm. Gracious Tuberose embraces all aspects of the flower’s loveliness: its fresh green shoots, dew-sprinkled petals and lingering sillage. The effect is the most gracious aura.

You can find all three of these fragrances at Sephora and Macys!

Disclaimer:  I was provided these samples from BzzAgent in exchange for my honest opinions and review. All opinions are 100% my own.

KLUTCHclub Box Review!

May 11

My first KLUTCHclub box arrived it my mailbox this week and I couldn’t be more excited to check out what was inside. If you are not familiar with KLUTCHclub, they are a subscription company that delivers health, wellness, and fitness products right to your doorstep. Each month you get the opportunity to test out products from healthy foods, snacks, drinks, fitness videos, skincare products, supplements, organic products, and discounts from retailers.

One of my favorite things about this box is the packaging.  The box itself is pretty big but that’s because it’s stuffed with so many great things!

The KLUTCHclub box that was sent to me was their April “Spring Clean Your Body” box.  For only about $17 a box you get 10 incredible products. This box alone was valued at over $70 worth of products inside! Every month each box will have a special theme. According to Julie Bastin, the founder and CEO, KLUTCHclub is perfect for the woman-on-the-go who wants help making smart choices, staying in shape and staying sane in this busy, demanding world. Here are all the goodies inside of the box i received..

  • “Kristin McGee’s Power Yoga” DVD
  • ZICO Natural Coconut Water
  • HyDrive Energy Drink (Berry Blast)
  • Tea Forte Sample Packs (Cucumber Mint, Cherry Marzipan, Honey   Yuzu)
  • Shea Terra Organics (Rose Hips Black Soap Deep Pore Facial Cleanser)
  • Barlean’s Organic Oils (Cinnamon Flax Oil)
  • Plentils Chips (Margherita Pizza flavor)
  • Enjoy Life “Not Nuts: Seed & Frut Mix” in Mountain Mambo
  • Kind Plus Bar in Peanut Butter Dark Chocolate
  • $25 Gift Code For Hyde Organic Yoga Clothing
Peanut Butter & Dark Chocolate : Two of my favorite things! This was delicious.. hard to believe it has so many natural ingredients in it.
Before trying these I heard a lot of hype about how good they were. Everything I read was true! Even my three year old daughter loved them.. she even finished the bag. Really nice flavor and a great crunch. I would have never guessed they were made from lentils. Oh, they are also ALLERGY FRIENDLY!

The Seed & Fruit mix was actually really tasty. I am not one to normally eat trail mix type snacks but this has a lot of great flavors within it.  Zico makes pure premium Coconut Water that contains more potassium than one whole banana! This stuff is really good for you. The Barlean’s Organic Flax Seed oil can be mixed into anything, from salad dressings to blended beverages. It also comes in several different flavors including cinnamon.

I have never attempted Yoga but this DVD is a great tool to start. I am very excited to try the Black Soap Face Cleanser because it is 100% natural and for all skin types. The HyDrive Energy Mix has zero calories and is the perfect size to carry in your purse. This box even included a $25 Gift Card to YogaHyde.com!

These antioxidant teas are supposed to work with your body’s chemistry to leave your skin beautiful from the inside out. The flavors alone sound yummy!

In my opinion the KLUTCHclub box is worth every penny. You only pay around $17-$18 or your box and as you can see, the value is incredible. You get to try several full sized products from different retailers that will help you maintain a healthy lifestyle. These boxes do not just come with food, snacks or drinks, but a variety of products. Think this is something you would be interested in?

KLUTCHclub is partnering with Bright Pink and donating 10% of May revenue to a wonfderful organization that helps early detection, prevention and awareness of breast and ovarian cancer.  Anyone who uses the code BrightPink gets 10% off their  KLUTCHclub purchase AND they will also donate 10% to the charity.

100 Day Picture Challenge: Day 23

      May 10

      100 Day Picture Challenge
      Day 23:
A picture of your favorite book
For my favorite book I actually cheated and went with the Twilight series. While I haven’t had the time to sit down and read all of the books, I still have enjoyed Twilight and New Moon. It’s always hard for me to finish a book when I have already watched the movie. I usually like to get as much detail as possible, which the books give, but after I see the movie there isn’t much left to look forward to! I am really excited to begin reading a book called “Fifty Shades Of Grey.” I have heard amazing things about it..

      May 09

      100 Day Picture Challenge
      Day 22:
A picture of something you never leave the house without

I went with my wallet for this one only because this is the one thing I have never forgotten to take with me, even in a rush. Normally it would have probably been my cell phone but I always have a fear of getting pulled over & not having my driver’s license on me. Before I leave the house I always double check to see if my wallet is in my purse or I at least have my ID in my back pocket.

Wordless Wednesday: Toodie & The Creepy Mask

      May 09

I know this is supposed to be “wordless” and all but there is no way I could post this photo without a caption to follow. Is this not one of the creepiest things you have ever seen? Normally this would just be a simple mask that you could find at Party City. But the fact that a little person is wearing it makes it 10 times more disturbing! This mask totally creeped me out but Toodie thought it was hilarious. I don’t think she realized how this thing looked on!

100 Day Picture Challenge: Day 21

      May 09

      100 Day Picture Challenge
      Day 21:
A picture of something you wish you could forget

Day 21 such a bitter sweet. It was hard for me to find a photo of something I wish I could forget without getting too much into my personal life. I went with this one because it was one of the first nights I went out with friends after moving back to Florida from Colorado. I had such a GREAT time and made some unforgettable memories but I also got extremely sick! I have never been much of a drinker, although my tolerance has improved over the past two years.  Certain liqueurs make me sick to my stomach. I HATE vodka- the smell, the taste, ughhh it’s gross. I remember going to dinner and then going to the Hardrock and basically throwing up everything I had in my stomach. To make it even better, it was in the tree next to the nightclub we were in. A friend of mine actually has a picture of me in the background and someone holding my hair for me! I wish I could find it because that would have been great for Day 21. Fun times, amazing friends, and honestly it was probably all worth it in the end!

      Oatmeal Whoopie Pies With Buttercream

      May 07

In hopes of completing my Whoopie Pie journey I decided to turn to the other end of the spectrum- SWEET! The last whoopie pie I made was Jalapeno Cornbread and while it was delicious, it didn’t satisfy the sweet tooth. Moving from savory to sweet, this time I went with Oatmeal and butter cream.
      Oatmeal Whoopie Pie
      Ingrediants:
4 tbs unsalted butter ( room temp)
      ½ cup (packed) brown sugar
      ¼ cup granulated sugar
      2 large eggs
      1 tsp vanilla extract
      1 ½ cups rolled oats (not fast-cooking)
      ¾ cup all-purpose flour
      ½ tsp baking soda
      ½ tsp ground cinnamon
      1 tsp salt
      ½ cup raisins (optional)
      ½ cup chopped pecans (optional)
      Directions:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper. In the work bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat together the butter and both sugars on low speed. Increase the speed to medium and beat until fluffy and smooth, about 3 minutes. Beat in the eggs one at a time. Add the vanilla dn beat until light and creamy, about 3 minutes.
In a food processor or blender, process ¾ cup of the oatmeal until it resembles whole grain flour. Transfer the ground oatmeal to a medium bowl and add the remaining oatmeal, flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
Add the oatmeal mixture to the butter-sugar mixture and beat on low speed until just combined. Using a spoon, drop about 1 tablespoon of batter onto one of the prepared baking sheets and repeat, spacing them at least 2 inches apart. I used a mini ice cream scooper but  realized that this made the whoopie pies too large. I suggest using a spoon to make them smaller because they expand quickly. Also, using an actual whoopie pie pan will make this ten times easier because you can control the size. I have no idea why I didn’t use one this time!

Bake one sheet at a time for about 11 minutes each or until the cookies begin to brown around edges. Remove from the oven and let the cakes cool on the sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack to cool completely.

      Classic Buttercream Filling
      Ingrediants:

      3 cups confectioners’ sugar
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, at room temperature
3 to 4 Tbsp. heavy (whipping) cream
      1 tsp. vanilla extract
      Pinch of salt

      Directions:

In the work bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat together the confectioners’ sugar with the butter, starting on low and increasing to medium speed, until the mixture is crumbly, about 1 minute. Add the heavy cream, vanilla and salt and beat on high speed until smooth, about 3 minutes.

      Assemble!
