Kool Off This Summer With Kool-Aid Fruit Juice Orange Creamsicle Bars #KoolOff

Jul 08

It’s hard to believe that there is only a little over a month of Summer left before the school year starts. I feel like it was just yesterday that we were rummaging through the garage in search of water guns, pool floats, and beach toys. Soon we will be packing up once again until Summer rolls back around next year. We have spent many days soaking up the sunshine and cooling off with a big glass of fruit juice in hand. A nice cold beverage is a must have when sitting by the pool or playing in the park this time of year. Florida is HOT and this Summer was no exception. The moment all the fun comes to an end will be a sad day in this  house. Luckily, I found a way to soften the blow and sweeten the moment by whipping up a batch of Kool-Aid Orange Creamsicle Bars made by yours truly.

Recipe: Firecracker Whoopie Pie Bites With Pop Rocks

I wasn’t going to let the 4th of July come and ago without whipping up something sweet in the kitchen. What better way to celebrate a patriotic holiday than with a plate of Firecracker Whoopie Pie Bites? These may look like your typical whoopie pies but these yummy cakes have a bit of sparkle to them. The secret? Pop Rocks. A candy that most of us remember from our childhood can make any recipe fun. These are also the perfect treat if you are having a BBQ or get together for the holiday. Kids will love that pop and crackle in each bite they take!

Recipe: Ooey Gooey Cake Batter Bars

Jun 19

Growing up my mother was not the best cook on the block but she sure could bake. The apple didn’t fall far from the tree in this case. While I enjoy cooking and attempting to make edible dishes, it just isn’t my thing. You should stick to what your good at in and out of the kitchen. I’m good at burning things and also setting the smoke alarm off. That alone tells me that my culinary interests should be channeled to something more productive. Now when it comes to baking I’m your girl.

Recipe: Magically Delicious Marshmallow Bars

Mar 07

For over a week I have been gazing at the giant box of family size Lucky Charms cereal that have been sitting on my kitchen counter. Toodie LOVES her Lucky Charms. We buy them frequently, more like weekly, and they are gone quicker than I can keep them in the pantry. When I was younger I remember picking all of the marshmallows out and pouring the plain cereal back in the box for the next poor soul to discover.Sugar makes you do crazy things and many boxes fell victim to my scheme. With this memory in mind I knew that I could turn our favorite cereal into something even more addicting. Yes, it is possible. I created something amazing and incredibly simple to make. They also don’t require any baking!

Recipe: NO BAKE Blueberry Muffin Pudding Push Pops

Mar 03

I love baking. I truly do. If you’ve been around here long enough then you probably can confirm this. But these days I find myself tired of cake, frosting, sprinkles, the process, the clean up, and the waiting. Sometimes it’s just nice to have an easy recipe that you can whip up in a matter of minutes and not have to clean a ton of sticky utensils after. I’ve had a box of the plastic cake push up pops sitting in my garage for some time now. I didn’t want to make the same old boring layered cake concoction so I decided to base my recipe on one of my favorite snacks; mini muffins. No bake, no mess, no problem! You can make and consume these little guys in less than 30 minutes from start to finish.

Cheesy Hash Brown, Sausage, + Egg Breakfast Cups With #JDCrumbles #spon

Feb 26

Breakfast recipes and snacks are beginning to trend on my blog this month! I’ve covered fun alternatives for the kids and even the parent on the go but what about a dish that the whole entire family will enjoy? I was provided with the opportunity to create a delicious and unique recipe using Jimmy Dean Sausage Crumbles. When I think of breakfast there are many mouth watering components that enter my mind. In our home it usually consists of  toast, eggs, hash browns, bacon, sausage, and a big glass of Orange juice to wash it all down. What if you could combine your favorite parts of Breakfast into one tasty meal? Using my own, I created “Breakfast Cups” using cheesy hash browns, eggs, and the oh-so convenient Jimmy Dean Sausage Crumbles. Since they are fully cooked, this recipe takes less time to make & gives you more time to enjoy!

Fun Breakfast Time Twists With Target! #PlateFullCoOp #spon

Feb 09

We all know that Breakfast is of the utmost importance in the morning, not only for children but adults too. Everyone needs energy and starting your day with a wholesome meal will keep you focused until lunch time. Even though it may be the most important meal of the day, it’s not always so simple. In our home it can be hectic, rushed, and repetitive during the week. Most parents will agree. There are never enough hours during the day, especially in between getting the children dressed and making sure their lunches are packed before school. With our morning routine in fast motion I sometimes lack creativity when it’s time for Breakfast. Have you every asked yourself what can be done to make it more exciting and less monotonous? I sure have.

Valentine Fruit Kabobs + Fluffy Cream Cheese Dip #ValentinesDay #Recipe

Jan 22

Simple treats are the sometimes the sweetest! Lately I have been doing a ton of baking in preparation for Toodie’s Valentine birthday. While traditional desserts are always a winner, I wanted to also serve yummy recipes that are healthy. We are a family of fruit lovers so I decided to add a twist to the boring mixed fruit bowl you often see at parties. Whether you are an adult or a child, everything tastes much better on a stick. Fruit kabobs are tasty, refreshing, healthy, and so much fun to eat. They are even better when you have something sweet to dip them in!
