By this time every year I have at least started my holiday shopping. The earlier the better! I hate the crowds, searching for deals, and missing out on that ONE thing that someone on my list has to have. By making a list and checking it twice, I am able to get a head start on gift giving while getting everything for a good price. First stop on my list? Best Buy. There are only 17 whole days before Thanksgiving, also known as Turkey Day, is here. Yes I am counting. Why? I love a holiday where I can enjoy my family’s company, count my blessings, and eat to my heart is content without any ounce of guilt! It’s the one day out of the year where everyone comes together to share what they are thankful for and appreciate what we have. While this is something I practice all year around, Thanksgiving is still a special time to spend with the one’s I adore. After all, it IS tradition in our home to have a big dinner full of tasty homemade dishes that will have everyone snug as a bug on a rug when they leave! This year I am helping my mom in setting up our family dinner and I am responsible for focusing on decor and details.

This week Toodie’s teacher sent home an assignment for each child to bring in their very own Thanksgiving turkey. It couldn’t have came at a better time because I have been doing a lot of pinning lately & discovered many holiday related Pint-er-esting finds. You wouldn’t believe how many turkey arts & crafts projects are floating around the internet! Thanksgiving will be here before we know it and I found an adorable paper plate turkey craft that can be used to decorate the home and classroom. It has a few different components to it but overall it is a very easy craft to do with your child. Toodie & I both enjoyed working on this together as a team.

This week I took the time to browse the newest and existing gift sets Sephora has to offer during the holidays online and in store. I’ve been gravitating towards lip products lately and noticed that they have so many gift sets from brands that I love. Each year I pick up a few of their Sephora Favorite’s Fragrance Samplers because they make great gifts for any age or gender. Last Christmas I purchased one for my mom and my boyfriend because I always spend hours deciding what scent they would like best. With this gift set they were able to smell several samples and redeem for a full sized fragrance of their choice. Such an awesome concept when people are difficult to shop for!

The Fall wedding season is officially in full swing. Colorful leaves are coating the ground, hot days are starting to cool down, and beautiful earthy tones have begun to surround us. This is the ideal time to take advantage of the gorgeous weather and tie your long awaited nuptials outdoors! As the big day approaches there are quite a few celebrations that take place before and in between. Traditionally these include the bachelor/bachelorette party, engagement party, rehearsal dinner, and bridal shower for the lovely bride. While I love to part-ay with my girlfriends, I get giddy when it’s my turn to host or attend a shower. Who doesn’t love dressing up, drinking girly drinks, nibbling on little sandwiches, and socializing with friends? I do! I also enjoy lending a helping hand when it comes to decorating and pulling a theme together. This is why I have taken upon the task of bridal shower planner for my wonderful mother. With the help of Target, I am ready to take the bull by the horns on this one. Let the planning, baking, making, creating, and decorating begin!
