100 Day Picture Challenge: Day 15

100 Day Picture Challenge
Day 15:
A picture of something you want to do before you die

One thing, of the many, that I want to do before I die is go on a long cruise to Alaska. The view alone would be absolutely gorgeous and the scenery is something you cannot walk outside and see everyday. I also love the cold. Living in Florida 99% of the time it’s hot and humid. I would give anything to go somewhere freezing where I had to be bundled up, even if it’s temporary! I’ve been on a cruise through the Caribbean before and had an incredible time.  I really just want to experience something new and different. Alaska is a beautiful place and how many people can actually say they have vacationed there? I hope one day I can say I am one of them!

100 Day Picture Challenge
Day 14:
A picture of your favorite store
Today I am supposed to show you a photo of my favorite store. As you can see from the picture it’s Express! If you know me well then you probably already knew this. I love love love.. did i say love? .. everything about Express. They have trendy clothing, shoes, bags, and accessories for every occasion. It’s weird because I never was really a fan of Express in high school but as I have gotten older my taste in clothing has really changed. I’ve grown out of the whole American Eagle preppy phase of my life and moved on to sophistication and style! Express is my go to store. If I need an outfit for ANYTHING that’s the first and only place I usually go.

Fearless Toodie

May 01

The past few months I have been noticing something very strange about my Toodie girl. At first I didn’t think it was anything but now I am starting to wonder… why does Toodie LOVE scary movies?! She is only three years old, this can’t be normal. It all started when I found her in my room one day and the Halloween trilogy was airing on one of the movie stations. I didn’t even notice she was watching it until I walked in freaking out because even Michael Myers scares ME as an adult! I immediately went to shut it off, standing in front of my television screen so she couldn’t see anything more. She got so upset with me, yelling, screaming, and crying. I couldn’t believe it. I told her she can’t watch scary things. The last thing I want is for her to be waking up in the middle of the night from horrible nightmares. Every time I ask, she responds with, “It’s not scary mommy.” It’s always the same answer. Lately, I have been catching her watching scary shows and movies even more. Toodie is so smart. She knows how to use the remote control and look through all of the television stations. Now don’t get me wrong, there are times I do walk into the room and she is watching other shows. When it isn’t the occasional horror movie it’s music, jewelry network, and even the gardening channel. My child has very eclectic taste in television programming. I think the real reason this puzzles me is because she is deathly afraid of a bug, even an ant, but will watch a man with a scary mask walking around to creepy music. Whenever a scary movie does come on she watches intently and then starts cracking up. Could she really understand that it’s not real at her age? Nothing seems to bother her. Am i missing something here? I think I should invest in a pink cape for my fearless Toodie. She may just turn out to be a Horror movie junkie like her momma.

100 Day Picture Challenge
Day 13:
A picture of your favorite band or artist

My favorite band or group at the moment is “The Script.” A year and a half of ago I had no idea who they were. It wasn’t until a family friend brought them up during a conversation at my house that I first found out about them. She suggested a couple of their songs and after looking them up on Youtube I was hooked. From what I have read they are fairly new and only have two albums out at the moment. I just love their music. It’s so different from the typical mainstream music that plays on the radio all day. I get tired of all that. Sometimes i just want to listen to a genuinely good song! My favorite songs they sing are called “Break Even”,”For The First Time”, and “The Man That Can’t Be Moved.”

Pixi Glow Collection: Review & GIVEAWAY!

Apr 30

The popular Pixi Beauty Line has recently joined forces with Disney to create the new Pixi Glow collection. This specific line was inspired by that little fairy everyone loves, Tinkerbell. The Pixi Glow products provide you with everything you need to pull of that shimmery, glowing, natural look for the Spring & Summer time. Pixi makeup is all about multi tasking, quick, easy, flawless, and effortless makeup. Does this not sound perfect for busy moms? Let’s face it, we don’t always have the time to spare when it comes to getting ready and doing what we need to do each day. That’s why I love Pixi beauty. They make it simple, even for those who are in a rush or makeup challenged!
Fairy Face Pallete ($34): The perfect Spring pallete. It includes five beautiful neutral eye colors, 3 blushes, 5 creamy lip glosses. It also comes with a mirror, blush, eyeshadow, and lip applicator. My favorite part of this pallete are the lip colors. They are really creamy, moisturizing, and go on smooth. One thing I did notice about them was they don’t leave your lips dry and the color doesn’t fade immediately. The baked eyeshadow colors are shimmery and sheer. Keep in mind that the color choices provided are for a natural look so they are very subtle. I personally like that the colors are wearable and can be worn everyday. The blush has multiple shades of pink leaving behind a fair amount of color without making you looking like a clown.

Magic Tink Tint ($16): This is one of my favorite products. It reminds me of a chubby crayon for your lips. I have seen a lot of makeup companies come out with the lipstick crayon concept but this one is different. Instead of being a standard color, it only comes in one shade – clear pink. The gel color goes on clear and adjusts to the pH levels of your body. If you have used the Smashbox O-Gloss this is exactly the same but less glossy. It gives you a pretty pink flushed color and comes off very natural.

PixiGlow Nail Colour ($8):  The perfect pink color for Spring and Summer time! It goes on just as pretty as it looks in the bottle. I only needed to apply two coats to get the desired bright pink shade that is seen in the packaging. It dries with a glossy finish and a hint of gold sparkle.

Catching Shadows Crayon ($18):   The new Catching Shadows crayon can be used as a base for eyeshadow or even a liner. It is a creamy beige/gold color that blends easily. It only comes in one color but goes well under most eyeshadow colors being that it is neutral.

Straight On Till Morning Liner ($14): If you have ever used any of the eyeliners in the Pixi line then you know they are comparable to Urban Decay’s 24/7 Eyeliners. This specific shade offered in the PixiGlow line is a shimmering shade of olive green with a slight hint of gold. It is creamy, smooth, pigmented, and also waterline friendly.I’ve been using mine every single day since I opened it!

Moonlight Luster Fairy Dust ($14): This is a highlighter product that can be used anywhere on the face to leave behind a luminous glow. The powder is very sheer and can be easily blended on cheeks and eyes. The best use I found for it was to highlight the inner corners of the eyes to brighten them up. This will help you look awake and give you a soft glow.

Toodie Tinkerbell!

This giveaway and review of the products i mentioned are in no way sponsored. I decided  to give the collection away on my own based on my personal experience after using them and to thank all of my supportive followers! If you would like to enter to win the whole PixiGlow Spring Makeup collection then enter through the rafflecopter form below. This giveaway is for US residents only.

Day 12:
A picture of something I love

There are so many things I love and I really could not think of what to choose for today’s photo challenge. I decided to go with nail polish because what girl doesn’t love having their nails a pretty color? I found a photo specifically of Zoya polish because it’s been my favorite and one of the only brands i’ve been using the past few years. Zoya offers tons of different colors, collections, and promotions that other brands don’t. Their polish stays on for days, even weeks! I love having my nails painted and new nail polish is something I am always on the look out for. It definitely qualifies as something i love!

Yummy Popcorn Cake

Apr 29

Ingrediants:
2 bags of buttered popcorn
16 oz of mini marshmallows
2 cups of M&M’s (1 bag)
1 1/2 cups of broken pretzels
1 stick of butter
Budnt Pan
Directions:
Pop two bags of buttery popcorn and toss it in a big enough bowl to mix all of your ingredients together. Make sure to sift through the popcorn to get rid of any kernels that did not pop. Next, you are going to add in 2 cups of M&M candies. One regular bag of M&M’s will equal 2 cups perfectly. Break your pretzel sticks into smaller pieces without crushing them completely. Most of mine were broken two to three times for bite size portions. I found that this evenly distributed the pretzels when they were broken down. Pour in 1 1/2 cups of broken pretzel pieces.

In a large sauce pan melt one stick of butter. Once the butter is completly melted add in your marshmallows. Stir the mixture until the ingredients are combined and smooth. Wait about a minute before adding it to the popcorn mix to avoid melting the chocolate.

Use Pam to coat your bundt pan or butter so that the popcorn cake will not stick to the edges. Pour your melted marshmallow onto the mixture and stir continuously so it coats all of the pieces. The more gooey it is, the better! When you are finished gently press the ingredients into the bundt pan so that it is packed tight. Cover with foil and allow it to sit for an hour so it becomes firm.

When your popcorn cake is ready it should easily slide right out of the pan. If it sticks you can take a tiny bit of butter on a knife and wiggle it out. Slice into pieces and enjoy! This is the perfect treat for your sweet & salty cravings.

100 Day Picture Challenge
Day 11:
A picture of something I hate

Hate is a very strong word so I will just use strongly “dislike” for today’s photo. I’ve never been a fan of fish and it’s one of those things that just makes me gag. When people find out that I don’t eat it they tell me I’m crazy. I know it’s one of the healthiest things you can eat but I’m just not into eating creatures from the sea. The only thing you will ever see me eating that inhabited the water world is a stone crab. I admit, I do love stone crab legs with yummy butter! I’ve given fish a chance before. The best memory I have of it was eating my first piece of sushi and immediately wanting to puke my brains out. As soon as i started chewing, the fishy scent engulfed my smelly sensors and it was all down hill from there. Sorry fishies you are just not for me.

Saturday’s Top 5 Laughs

Apr 28

1. Toodie has been actively potty training lately and being in school has only helped. Even though she knows to make pee-pee on the potty she has yet to master making a poopy. She still goes in her pull up. This week she told me, “Mom i’ve got poop.” Of course I replied and told her to come into her room to be cleaned. With huge excited eyes her response was, “I’m so excited! I can’t wait to see it!” Who would have thought poopy could be SO exciting?! It seems like every time this happens she wants to study and observe the creation she has made. I just can’t help but laugh..

2. I have no clue where she learned this or why she does it. It’s actually really gross and I am warning you before I actually reveal the act! Toodie is officially in her picking the nose phase. This week I caught her first hand going at it, digging for long lost treasure. I know normal children pick their nose then consume it ( we have ALL seen this ) but Toodie has a different plan for her boogies. She likes to use them as chapstick. Get where I am going with this?  No further explanation needed!

3. Toodie has a new catch phrase. Every time she sees something flowery, girly, or pretty her reply is “AWWWWW that so cute mummy.” I don’t know where she got it from but she says it about EVERYTHING now. You could be changing the toilet paper roll and she would go on for minutes telling you how cute that roll is.

4. This week Toodie somehow got a hold of grandma’s bra and was using it as a slingshot. Then she strapped it on her head and ran around the house with two padded ear muffs. I guess bras really do have more than one use..

5. Lately when we have been in the car, whether are are headed to school or out for errands, Toodie is very selective about what is on the radio. She tells me what songs she likes and what SHE wants to listen to. As i scroll through the stations she says “No, not dat one mom.” Funny thing is she ALWAYS wants to listen to Adele every single time she is on the radio. Could my three year old really have selective taste in music!?
