As it gets closer to the big day many couples are finalizing plans and gathering ideas for their wedding registry. Love is in the air. Everywhere I look around..

The Fall wedding season is officially in full swing. Colorful leaves are coating the ground, hot days are starting to cool down, and beautiful earthy tones have begun to surround us. This is the ideal time to take advantage of the gorgeous weather and tie your long awaited nuptials outdoors! As the big day approaches there are quite a few celebrations that take place before and in between. Traditionally these include the bachelor/bachelorette party, engagement party, rehearsal dinner, and bridal shower for the lovely bride. While I love to part-ay with my girlfriends, I get giddy when it’s my turn to host or attend a shower. Who doesn’t love dressing up, drinking girly drinks, nibbling on little sandwiches, and socializing with friends? I do! I also enjoy lending a helping hand when it comes to decorating and pulling a theme together. This is why I have taken upon the task of bridal shower planner for my wonderful mother. With the help of Target, I am ready to take the bull by the horns on this one. Let the planning, baking, making, creating, and decorating begin!

Weddings. The most memorable celebration in any couple’s life and the beginning of a new chapter that holds many surprises. While they always find a way to come out perfectly, a heck of a lot of work goes into planning and preparing. But the bride and groom are not the only ones under stress during this time! Family, friends, and guests are also determined to purchase a unique gift that will stand out from the rest. While shopping for the perfect gift duo, I took the time to gather inspiration from two special people in my life who are engaged and preparing to wed! My mom and her fiance have been engaged for seven months and soon they will be celebrating the most memorable day of their lives. So much thought and time goes into planning a wedding. You have to hire a coordinator, pick your meals, choose the color scheme, and many more tedious details that bring the celebration together. Knowing my mom, they will be spending quite some time on the flowers and theme! While they are sorting out those important decisions, I have been busy planning their gifts. I wanted to make sure that each gift I chose complimented their individual personalities but also could be brought together to enjoy as a couple.

My soon to be stepfather is the head cook of the house. He always has some unique recipe or spice that make his dishes stand out from the rest. One of his favorite ways to prepare meals is on the grill. Whether it’s chicken or steak, a perfectly cooked piece can make any meal fantastic! Heck, he could even throw vegetables on there and they would come out tasty. He is your typical “man” who loves being outdoors, preparing good food, and pleasing everyone’s taste buds.


For him I chose the Weber One Touch Grill in Silver. This charcoal grill is a must-have item for any new couple’s backyard. It’s a reasonable size for a small or large area. You can easily move it from one location to the next with the wheels attached. I love the modern appearance of the grill itself. The porcelain enameled bowl gives it a sleek look. It’s also waterproof which is needed for those rainy Florida days, weeks, and months. Not only could he use this grill to make dinner for the family, but also feed the masses during Football season coming up!

My mom is your typical “mother hen” and loves to nurture those around her. She hates cooking but loves to try new delicious foods. You won’t find her in the kitchen because she is always the one entertaining guests. She bakes to her heart is content and eagerly shares her creations. Whether it is a new recipe or quirky dessert, she never fails to deliver the element of surprise! 

This is why I chose the Threshold 5- Sectioned Serving Platter as her gift. This porcelain tray has five generous sections that can be used for finger foods or snacks. One thing that came to mind when choosing this gift was our weekly BBQ nights. Once her fiance is done cooking dinner on the grill, the first thing we do is roast marshmallows for homemade s’mores. I thought that this gift would be great for holding all of the elements needed to make the fluffy sandwiches. My mom could also use it for the holidays and anytime guests are over. It’s the gift that keeps on givin’.. 

For a sweet touch, I even purchased a few s’more maker essentials. I’ve always been known to add my own personal flare to the gifts I give. I enjoy putting sincere thought into the process! I can see my mom and her fiance both enjoying a pair of toasty marshmallows under the stars together. This would probably be considered a non traditional gift but it fits both of their personalities perfectly.
