Spring has officially sprung and with the season change comes an abundance of beautiful flowers, fluttering butterflies, and the occasional allergy attack which creeps up ever so gently. This is one of my favorite times of the year because the weather is lovely and it’s the ideal opportunity to step outside to enjoy nature at its finest. Having soft hands and healthy skin is something that I always strive to obtain. Since becoming a mom I notice that it is much harder to keep up with. With circumstance and age our skin changes. But this doesn’t mean that there aren’t solutions. I tend to wash my hands several times a day, probably more than necessary. This causes them to become dry and sometimes cracked because of the lack of moisture. Putting lotion on helps but I don’t always have the time to lather up after each wash. Last week I touched on the importance of eating a wholesome breakfast & gave a few of my favorite examples on how I make it more exciting around here. While creating monkey pancakes and fruit parfaits only takes a few extra moments to prepare, time is of the essence in the morning. Sometimes a quick and easy alternative is needed to get me of out the door in a timely fashion. These days I find myself grabbing for a granola bar or fresh fruit on the way out. Typically I eat my choice in the car or at work. I have never been a huge breakfast eater but as I have gotten older I notice that it sure is hard to function without it. As long as I have something to fill me up and give me energy I am good to go until lunch time. You can always find a granola, cereal, or some type of breakfast bar in my purse for convenience.

When I was a little girl (many moons ago) my mother always encouraged me to participate in any extra curricular actitivites that would pave the road to my future in a positive manner. One of these was being a Girl Scout. I never thought I would say this but I am proud to share that I was a Girl Scout for 12 years. I know, that’s a long time and now that I am older it seems even longer. I started as a Brownie at seven years old and ended my journey in high school with the highest achievement possible, the Gold Award. If there was one thing I took away from being a Girl Scout it had to be the ability to help people, near and far, no matter how young I was. I learned how to make a difference through volunteering, making care packages for our troops, donating stuffed animals to the children’s hospital, and learning valuable lessons with the help of organizations such as the American Red Cross.

Holiday Trends At The Children’s PLACE! #PLACEHoliday

Shortly before Thanksgiving I was invited to shop at The Children’s PLACE for their #PLACEHoliday event. In my previous posts I have always ranted and raved about how much I adore shopping here for my daughter. If you have a child then I am sure you have experienced the struggle of having to constantly replace clothes and update wardrobes due to their ability to grow like a weed! This is why I stick to affordable clothing that can grown into and not just worn for a month or two. At The Children’s PLACE I am always able to find stylish clothing for my four year old. She may be little but she loves to look good! A little fashionista at heart, she gets excited when she sees the big blue bag sitting in her room just waiting to be rummaged through. As a mom I don’t mind because I am always getting the most for my money here. It doesn’t hurt that they frequently have amazing sales and coupons that can be stacked right on top for extra savings. I could keep on going but I am sure by now you all know how much I enjoy shopping here!

Making The Most Of Black Friday Shopping At Target #MyKindOfHoliday

It’s that time of year again. Black Friday shopping has begun, already. This year many retailers have opened their doors early and given shoppers a head start. At this time last year I would typically be struggling to stay awake, still shuffling through my lists, and hitting people’s ankles repetitively with my cart as I browsed each aisle like a walking zombie. Not this year. For the first time I headed straight to Target to begin my shopping and made it out in under the normal 5-7 hours. Yes I calculated this given my experience two years ago! It was a breeze this time around and much less stressful. Target had their ad out ahead of time which made it easy for early birds like myself to get organized.
