Can we make it official that the art of coffee wizardry was created by the Keurig company? I already convinced myself of this when I used my very first Keurig brewer a few years ago. Our old coffee pot was dismembered and tossed in the garage within minutes of popping in the first K-Cup. Right now it’s still collecting dust as its competition sits comfortably on my kitchen counter, receiving endless amounts of love each day. Influenster: Q-TIPS Precision Tips REVIEW #IdoVoxBox


As I continue to rummage through my Something Blue voxbox, there is one brand that I recognize from a mile away! The Q-tips brand has been around for years, more than 85 to be exact. I grew up using Q-tips mainly to clean my ears after a bath or pop the hard pieces of play-doh out of my toys. As the years went buy I learned that they are actually quite helpful in removing gunk from sippy cup straws, perfecting smudged eyeliner, painting, and touching up excess nail polish from your cuticles. Q-tips sure do grow with you. I couldn’t function without em’ and to ensure I don’t have to there is always a brand new box awaiting me in the bathroom. 

Inside of the #IdoVoxBox I found two 30 count purse packs of the Q-Tip Precision Tips. These new additions to the q-tip family have pointed tips at both ends and are made from 100% pure cotton. This makes them them the softest cotton swab around! I bet you didn’t know that they are also biodegradable. The paper sticks attached to the ends of the fluffy swabs are sourced from sustainable forest too. Q-tips seem to be the most simple tool but they can be used for so many different things. The little purse packs are convenient and small enough to fit within a clutch or purse. Since receiving mine, I have kept one inside of my makeup bag and one in my car for emergencies. I often touch up my makeup during the day and having these little guys on hand makes the task much easier. They are perfect for removing eyeliner, mascara, and any eyeshadow that makes it way out of place. I even use them to clean the tiny crevices in my car near my stereo and console.

Between work and being a full time mommy, I don’t always have the spare time to head to the salon for pampering. Sometimes I prefer to do my own manicure and pedicure at home. I have a vast nail polish collection and enjoy coming up with my own designs. While I am almost a pro at painting my left hand, the right always ends up looking like I did the job with both eyes closed. The Q-tip precision points help me clean up the mess and touch up all of the extra nail polish. The pointed tip does a clean job of removing the excess and leaves my nails looking much nicer. Just another example of how versatile they really are!

Influenster: Luster NOW! Instant Whitening Toothpaste REVIEW #IdoVoxBox


Since receiving my Something Blue VoxBox from Influenster, I have been taking the time to test and try each product found inside. You can visit my previous post to see all of the goodies that were packed inside the #IDoVoxBox this month. After a week of using the Luster NOW! whitening toothpaste I have a solid opinion on my experience with the product. Like I mentioned in my first impression review, I love whitening toothpaste. I have been using other brands for years but never found one product that I considered completely effective. While many of them show visible signs of whitening within the first week, I noticed that the results would never last. This was not the case with Luster NOW! and after using it for over a week I continue to see my teeth getting whiter.

This instant whitening toothpaste brightens your teeth with its minty blue formula. Finally, a toothpaste that tastes good! One thing I have HATED about other whitening products is the horrible taste, after taste, and burning sensation. Sometimes toothpastes like this can irritate your gums because of the potency. Fortunately,  it is gentle enough to use on your teeth everyday and whitens instantly. If you have blonde or highlighted hair, you may recognize the concept used in brightening shampoos. The vibrant blue color reminds me the Shimmer Lights shampoo and conditioner to keep your highlights bright. This technology has now transferred over to dental hygiene.  After over a week my teeth are brighter and much more shiny. I am really looking forward to the long term results of Luster NOW! and the overall improvement it offers.

Skincare is a topic that has become more and more important to me as each year passes. When I was 15, I had flawless skin. No blemishes, redness, blotchy spots, or fine lines. Those were the days… I appreciated my skin but always thought that it would remain porcelain and perfect. I didn’t care about taking care of my skin or preparing it for the years to come. At that age, don’t we all think we are “invisible”to the signs of aging among other things? My mom always encouraged me to start taking care of my complexion as a teen. “It is never too early to start taking care of your skin,” she would say. As a teenager the words went in one ear and right out the other! Needless to say, a year or so later I began my interest in skincare and researched brands that would best suit me. CLEAR SCALP & HAIR BEAUTY THERAPY™ Review

I am no stranger to the new CLEAR SCALP & HAIR BEAUTY THERAPY shampoo and conditioner system so I was glad to see the generous sized samples in my Influenster Summer Beauty voxbox. For the past two months I have used both the shampoo and conditioner duo on my daughter and myself. This line is designed to change the way that we take care of our hair, giving it back it’s strength starting at the scalp. While getting the hair clean it is also helping to nourish the follicles from root to tip. This prevents breakage, split ends, and overall texture by providing a rich blend of vitamins and nutrients. 

 Having color treated hair can be very damaging and it can also be hard to find products that will bring your hair “back to life.” I have colored my hair for years and have always noticed it is harder to keep soft and conditioned. With  the CLEAR SCALP & HAIR BEAUTY THERAPY™ I no longer have this issue.  My hair does not feel dry or brittle and is now smooth, fly-away free, and bouncy!


After using the CLEAR SCALP & HAIR BEAUTY THERAPY™ on Toodie’s hair for a week, I noticed a huge difference in the overall look and texture. Toodie has very curly hair that can be difficult to manage and comb through. It’s also very soft making it prone to tangles and knots. Using the shampoo and conditioner allowed me to comb through her hair easily and prevented frizz after drying. The conditioner is probably my favorite of the two products because it leaves the hair very moisturized without making it oily.

One of the many items I was chosen to test in my Summer Beauty voxbox from Influenster was the Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Lotion.

It also provides 12-hours of moisture that will keep your skin silky soft. If you are headed to the beach or pool this Summer, you may want to check out this product. Toodie loves being outside, especially during the Summer when the sun is out and there isn’t a cloud in the sky. She spends a lot of time at the pool, playing water hopscotch and running around in the sprinklers. Even though she has a tan complexion and doesn’t burn when in the sun, I am always protecting her skin from the harmful UV rays. This lotion was easy to apply and absorbed quickly without leaving a sticky or thick residue behind. Toodie was able to put it on herself without mom having to rub in the excess. It also smelled great! If you used the product and had no idea what it was ,you probably would not guess that this was your typical sunscreen.  It’s scent is very light.

The Many Uses of Ivory #influenster

 
This month I received a bar of Ivory soap in my Influenster Mom Vox Box. Ivory soap has been around for quite some time and is known for being free of dyes and heavy perfumes found in most soaps. It’s simple, affordable, but also effective for the whole family. It’s also the only soap that floats! Ivory soap gives moms like me an easy, effortless way to get the family clean because it is so pure.
 In the process of getting the most out of my Ivory Soap bar, I found many uses for it. Besides the traditional sudsy soap bar for the shower, I also used it to cleanse my face at night. I am happy to say I experienced no break outs or blemishes. The Ivory Soap bar left my skin silky smooth and moisturized. My hair brushes were also treated to a bubble bath with the Ivory Soap bar right by their side. Within minutes of a good soaking my brushes were clean and free of product build up.

I also experimented and decided to use my Ivory soap bar to get my makeup brushes fresh for the week. I try to keep my brushes clean and wash them at least once a week so there is bacteria lurking around. I usually use a liquid soap or shampoo when cleansing but thought that using the bar soap may do a better job. I was right! I couldn’t believe how well Ivory soap worked in deep cleaning each brush, even my eyeshadow brushes looked brand new after. The bristles were also very soft and there was no shedding afterwards or during. Goodbye icky makeup brushes!
  

On top of these uses it can also be an effective stain remover, laundry flakes, and soap projects. You can find Ivory soap at your nearest retailer, including stores such as Walmart and Target as well as any major grocery, dollar and drug store.  A 10-pack of Ivory bar soap retails for around  $4.49 (bath bar size). Ivory Soap is one of the most affordable and versatile on the market. You can’t beat the price especially for all of the uses you are getting from one bar.
