Am I the only one that thinks this Summer went by way too fast? Seriously, what the heck happened to the last couple of months! I think I am going to blame it on the heat and humidity, seems like a valid argument. It’s so hard to focus on anything else when it’s hot as the Sahara desert here. Every time I pick the munchkin up from school she is sweaty, sticky, and craving something cold. We learned a long time ago that waiting around for the ice cream truck to make an appearance in our neighborhood could take days, weeks, maybe even months. It’s like a magical unicorn. You know it exists but you never see it. “Ain’t nobody got time for that!” We would rather make an ice cream run around the corner to our local Walgreens
Yesterday we headed to Walgreens and stocked up on some of our favorite Unilever ice cream treats. There were so many choices that it actually took us a solid 10 minutes to decide what we would be bringing home. I had my heart set on the Magnum Gold once I saw the words sea salt and caramel. Toodie went for the Strawberries & Milk Fruttare and since everyone loves the classic Klondike bars they came home with us too. Choosing the right ice cream is one serious decision but we made it out with something that would please everyone.
We are lucky that our nearest Walgreens is open 24 hours which means we can make an ice cream run at any time of the day! Whenever ice cream makes an appearance there are usually endless smiles to accompany it and as a mom I love that. Everyone deserves a sweet reward and what better way to relax and enjoy Summer time than with a nice cold ICE CREAM! I actually hear that Magnum bar whispering my name from the freezer right now…
Enjoy what is left of Summer and make a quick ice cream run to your nearest Walgreens. They have plenty of treats to beat this heat!
