It’s officially a week into December and this time of year always tends to be a little stressful for me. By the time it gets here I am on the verge of pulling out my hair, throwing in the towel, and wrapping my presents with newspaper! Sound like a crazy person? Really, it’s not that as bad as it sounds. I love Christmas, but the days leading up to it are fast paced and hectic. The holidays can make anyone a little coo-coo. That is why it is important to not only worry about others this season but also ourselves. We are never too busy for a little pampering and honestly, we deserve it! Our hands are the two greatest tools that are used and sometimes abused during the holidays. After endless wrapping, baking, cleaning, cooking, packing, folding, scrubbing, and decorating- my hands are screaming for a little lovin’. Lucky for me, I was given the opportunity to try two “handy” products from Julep to bring them back to life.
The two products I received were the Julep Glycolic Hand Scrub and Age Defying Hand Brightener. They are both a part of the “Beautiful Hands To Go” set and can also be individually purchased on their own. These products combined will leave your hands brighter and smoother.
The Glycolic Hand Scrub is designed to exfoliate the hands by using a potent glycolic acid and apricot seeds. It is described as being scented with orange oil which leaves the skin smelling fresh after use. I really liked the scent because it was a mixture of citrus undertones. The exfoliation beads were small enough that they didn’t hurt or tear my skin while washing. Afterwards, my hands felt much softer and had a glow to them. It also only took a small amount of the product to cover both hands. I can imagine that a full tube would last a long time with several uses. To seal in the moisture and add even more radiance, I used the Age Defying Hand Brightener after. This lotion isn’t greasy and doesn’t leave an oily film on the surface of your skin. It absorbs rather quickly and minimize any signs of fine lines or wrinkles. While I do not have any wrinkles or discoloration on my hands, I could notice a visible difference in the luminosity. Both of these used together gently refreshed my hands and took away any dullness. They are also the perfect size to keep in a purse or in your desk at work if you need a little “pick me up.”
